Welcome to My Mind is a Wallflower
Honest thoughts about mental health, depression, healing, life, and finding your way back to yourself.
Welcome to My Mind is a Wallflower—my little corner of the internet where I share honest thoughts, personal experiences, and the things that sometimes feel easier to write than to say out loud.
For a long time, I stopped writing.
Five years, to be exact.
Depression changed the way I experienced life. Things that once seemed simple could feel overwhelming, and getting through an ordinary day sometimes took everything I had. Little by little, I withdrew from people, from the things I loved, and eventually from writing.
I didn’t always know how to explain what was happening inside my head. Truthfully, there were times when I didn’t understand it myself.
So I stopped trying to put it into words.
But eventually, I realized those words were still there.
Why I’m Writing Again
Coming back to writing doesn’t mean I’ve figured everything out. I haven’t.
I’m still learning how to navigate depression, mental health, relationships, creativity, and all the unexpected turns that life brings. Some days are easier than others, and there are still moments when I struggle to recognize just how far I’ve come.
But I’ve learned that progress doesn’t have to be dramatic.
Sometimes it’s getting out of bed when you don’t want to.
It can be creating something just because it makes you happy.
Sometimes it’s laughing again after a difficult stretch of days.
And sometimes it’s simply deciding that you’re going to keep going.
For me, part of that journey has been picking up my pen—or, these days, sitting down at my keyboard—and allowing myself to write again.
What You’ll Find Here
My Mind is a Wallflower is a place for real conversations and personal stories about the things that shape us.
You’ll find posts about:
- Depression and mental health — the struggles, the lessons, and the realities that aren’t always easy to talk about.
- Healing and personal growth — figuring out who we are and where we want to go next.
- Life and relationships — the people, experiences, challenges, and moments that leave an impression.
- Creativity and inspiration — finding comfort, joy, and an outlet through creative expression.
- Starting over — because sometimes life takes us somewhere we never expected to go.
Not every post will be heavy. Some may be thoughtful, some lighthearted, and some may simply be a collection of thoughts that needed somewhere to land.
I don’t want this blog to be a place where everything is polished and perfect.
I want it to be honest.
For the Wallflowers
If you’ve ever felt like you were standing just outside the world, watching everyone else move forward while you were trying to figure out your next step, I hope you’ll feel at home here.
Maybe you’ve struggled with depression or your mental health, or you’ve lost your sense of direction, or you’re going through a season of change.
Or maybe you’re simply someone who thinks deeply, feels deeply, and sometimes needs a quiet place to breathe.
Whatever brought you here, you’re welcome.
Life isn’t a straight line, and none of us have to navigate it perfectly.
So pull up a chair, stay awhile, and take a look around.
Read a post. Share your thoughts. Come back whenever you need to.
Welcome to My Mind is a Wallflower.
I’m glad you’re here.
